Researching the Overcode
Brian Holmes is a philosopher who works with activists and artists and with people who are both, and sees the artist’s task (or did in 2009) as a kind of activist research: “locating yourself against the horizons of disaster, then finding the modes and scales of concrete intervention into lived experience.”
Here is a section of his book Escape the Overcode that attempts to address the research project of our times: https://brianholmes.wordpress.com/2008/03/17/activist-research/
